I love you more everyday
After the incident, i think i should cherish more. Life will have sudden change.

I got a small news.
My vocation changed again.
It all started during tuesday (14/2). We were having our lesson and suddenly our course commander and senior instructor came to the class. They asked all nsf to go to the other room for a short interview. In the room there is a officer from 180 squadron. He briefly describe what his squadron is doing. Boarding party (ASSet). A new unit recently formed. Actually we got heard abit of it during our jrc course. They board merchant ship and prevent it from been hijacked. In addition, to show to the terrorist that singapore is doing something. He told us that they are now in need of people urgently. They need to form another team of 8 man. So he need to select 2 from our class as communication (comms) and another 4 from gunner class as team members. We were puzzled because we are not trained in comms. However, he told us that the role is not important because we will be trained as all rounder as there will be times where we are alone due to unforeseen circumstances. Other than that, the team must work together. It is a three months course and it is trained by two NDU officers. They will be trained in small arms. The course is also physical demanding, so they need to choose those that is quite physical fit. Anyway they will only board compliant merchant ship. Non compliant ship or hijacked ship is NDU job.
After his talk, he start his one to one interview. The 8 of us was recluant to go to the squadron and everyone express that they are not interested. However, he told us that he will need to select 2 no matter what, so we have to look at the bright side. Moreover, whichever 2 is selected will be taken out from their course immediately and transfer to their squadron for training.
After he was gone, our class start to place bets. My course commander also joined in. Everyone think i will be selected because of my ippt and my physical bulid. My stake was 80 percent. ARghZ. It makes me feel very down because i also got the feeling i will get selected.
Then during evening time, my stake increase to 90 percent. All my other jrc friends also think i confirm is one of the 2. The gunnery class was told the result and those selected will be going to post out on thursday. Finally at night, my stake reached the peak. 100 percent. It is because we saw two names (mine and my bmt friend) on a piece of paper at SI table. They choose from our ippt result.
Today morning the news was break to us. My bmt friend and i is going off. Taken out from our course and sent to the squadron. Report tml at tuas. When we were doing the clearance form, our instructors become very good to us. They even shake hands with us, congrats us and some even told us about what we going to expect from there. Everyone impression to 180 squardon was xiong and demanding. :( . On the way out, we saw alot jrc friends and we bid farewell.
In the beginning, i feel very down and sad because i was taken out from my vocation. I only left one month plus to the end of my vocation and suddenly came this news. We look like dogs been push around. Futhermore, if im out of imos, i will not able to attend the imos event at sentosa on 3 march. All trainee and perm staff is attending. The whole day is a off day. I feel very wasted because i cant get to see people in bikini. SadZ. There is also a east coast park biathlon ( 24 march), which i will miss out too.
It came to a point where i have enough of ns. However, after some thinking, someone" encouragement and knowing we cant do anything about it, i think im going to try it and complete my ns life meaningfully. Luckily, i still have my bmt friend and not alone.

It is an important vocation because the system we operate in controls all other systems in the ship. They call our system the brain of the ship. During peace or war time, we are equal important. Sometimes we will have 100 contacts to monitor and it is stressful because behind us sat the ops officer. Futhermore, we need to remember alot buttons which links to various functions. One mistake during war time and we are done for. It is mental demanding as we need to act fast and do the correct things. The ship depends on us for first hand informations.
APV/PV
It is patrol vessel, the smallest ship in RSN navy. However, dont mistook it as police coast guard vessel. APVs/PVs carries weapons for real time war. They patrol singapore water 24/7. You will have a lot short sailing if you are the crew. Worst sailing routine in RSN. Its routine is very dull and you will not awarded any medal compared to LST. However, without them, people in singapore will not be able to sleep peacefully.
C2 and APV/PV combination is the worst vocations u will want to get. One year conduct once. I can count myself 'lucky' to get in.
