Similarities
10 aug ( first day): Road March with FBO to reclaim land and bulid our basha tent. Then it came the rain. Almost the whole body of mine is wet. Got mild heat rashes on my shoulder. In addition, my new set of uniform was also wet because when you are in the jungle you will easily perspire. So i had to slp in a wet uniform. Totally frustrated.
What a nice way to start field camp!
Reclaim land: We were taught different ways of survival. Our second ic whom is a commando, teaches us addition fighting stances. "Be Flexible , enemy are not dumb". There is another good thing about warrant officers, they had more hands on experiences.
Stay at reclaim land for two days and move off.
13 and 14 Aug: Went to malay school. This is where we had our technical break. We were given 10 min to B*** at the malay school toilet. Hahah.. Envy our company? :-x. After that is the inter platoon and sergeant tug war. The whole technical break boasted up our morale.
15 Aug: Oil Palm plantation. We had our test here.
16 Aug (Craziest): Road march 8km with FBO to rubber tree plantation. Exhausted. Then start our digging of shell scape ( trench). Fortunately, the ground is not hard. It was easy to dig the big hole. Super exhausted. Finally everything, including the fire trench, was done.
BUT
IT RAIN!
When you got a good defend postion, you will never give it up no matter what happen (including raining with thunder, you will stay there. The whole place is flooded to your kneel level, you also will have to stay there)
So the instruction given were to GET BACK TO OUR SHELL SCAPE AS FAST AS WE CAN AND PROWL DOWN. Sergeant screaming here and there to get everyone in prowl postion. Everyone was rushing to put their jacket and ground sheet on while the rain is getting bigger. Water dripping through the ground sheet and my shell scrape become wet. My whole body is full of wet sand. It rain for an unknown period of time.
The impact of rain was disastrous. Everyone was wet and all equipments are full of sand and soil. When i look at the shell scape of those digging behind, i got a shock. Their shell scape is half full of water because of the terrain. Basically all in the while, they were prowling (swimming) in that small swimming pool.
Night fall and we were to sleep in our own shell scape.
17 Aug: Last day of field camp. We were to do our BIC. Leopard crawl and back crawl through obstacles. Afterwhich, march back to company line.
End of field camp.
The most interesting time of the day is powder bath. It was fun. You wear only your underwear and powder yourself and friends' back. Haha. Throwing powder everywhere on your body. The whole area air was full of powder. Powder pollution.
